CLED REBRAND

THE PROJECT

As part of VCEE’s comprehensive rebrand, I led the full creative direction and execution of a refreshed visual identity designed to better reflect the organization’s evolving mission, professionalism, and forward momentum. The goal was to create a cohesive, future-ready brand system that resonates with educators, partners, donors, and community stakeholders across Virginia.


At the heart of this rebrand was the modernization of the VCEE logo. I redesigned it with a cleaner, more simplified structure that enhances legibility, scalability, and versatility across mediums, from digital platforms to print collateral and event signage. The updated mark maintains continuity with the organization’s legacy while aligning with current design standards, positioning the brand as credible, accessible, and adaptable.


I also reimagined the brand’s color story to strengthen visual identity and engagement. While remaining grounded in VCEE’s existing palette, I introduced more contemporary and energetic tones to create a fresher, more dynamic feel. Most notably, I incorporated Pantone's Dazzling Blue as a strategic fourth color, selected to increase visual contrast, support accessibility, and provide a stronger foundation for diverse marketing applications. Studies consistently show that the use of two to three core colors paired with a high-contrast accent can significantly improve brand recognition, and this adjustment aligns with those best practices.


The result is a more cohesive, flexible, and impactful visual brand, one that not only honors VCEE’s roots but also elevates its presence in a competitive nonprofit landscape. These updates have strengthened the organization’s storytelling across platforms and laid the groundwork for continued growth in audience engagement, donor visibility, and educational reach.

THE LOGO


VCEE’s logo has been thoughtfully refreshed to embody a sleeker, more modern aesthetic that better reflects the organization’s evolving mission and forward momentum. The upgraded design features cleaner lines, simplified shapes, and enhanced scalability—ensuring the logo remains clear and impactful across a wide range of digital and print applications, from websites and social media to event signage and promotional materials.

This modernization balances contemporary design trends with brand continuity, maintaining the recognizable elements that stakeholders associate with VCEE’s trusted identity. The updated logo supports greater versatility and consistency, positioning VCEE for stronger visual presence and deeper engagement as it continues to expand its reach and impact in economic and financial education.

THE COLOR STORY

As part of VCEE’s rebrand, I updated the color story to introduce a more contemporary and dynamic palette that elevates the overall brand aesthetic. While slightly deviating from the previous colors, the new selection brings fresh energy and versatility to the visual identity.

A key enhancement was the introduction of a fourth color—Pantone’s Dazzling Blue. This addition improves contrast and visual hierarchy, which are essential for effective marketing and accessibility. Research shows that combining two to three primary colors with a bold contrasting accent significantly boosts brand visibility and appeal, and this updated palette reflects that best practice.

Together, these color updates contribute to a more engaging, recognizable, and modern brand presence across all platforms.

THE PROMO MATERIALS

As part of the VCEE rebrand, I developed a cohesive suite of marketing and promotional materials that reflect the updated visual identity. From event signage and digital assets to branded giveaways and print collateral, each item was designed to showcase the refreshed logo, modern color palette, and a more engaging, professional brand presence.
